Though Destiny’s Child disbanded in 2006, the bond between the members remains strong, and they're never more than a text away from each other.
In a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show (Feb. 11), Michelle Williams shared the inside scoop on the group chat she shares with Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland.
After welcoming Williams to her show, Hudson asked about the Destiny’s Child group text, with the question written on a slip of paper tucked into a purple handbag. With a smile, Williams responded, “It is pure, it’s friendship — it’s all of those things.”
When pressed on who’s the most talkative in the chat, Williams laughed and said, “Surprisingly, me,” before adding, “I don’t know, Kelly, now … Kelly can talk! Yeah, yep. It depends.”
Before parting ways, Destiny’s Child, which at one point included LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson, achieved 10 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Williams is currently starring as Viola Van Horn in Death Becomes Her on Broadway, which opened in November with both Beyoncé and Rowland in the audience to support their former bandmate.
In January 2024, the three ladies reunited again to celebrate Tina Knowles, Beyoncé and Solange's mother, on her 70th birthday. As a special treat, they even performed for her, and Tina later posted on Instagram, “I just got spoiled to death this weekend! I even got serenaded by Destiny’s Child! How amazing is that?!”
